Bill Fote (trumpet) is originally from Upstate N.Y. and grew up in a family of musicians. He was part of the “family band”, where he started out as a drummer. He played his first professional gig at age 13, and later developed as the group’s trumpet player. The Fote family moved to the Orlando, Florida area while he was still in high school, during which he was selected as the lead trumpet player in the Florida All State Jazz Ensemble.
At 19, he was a union musician playing professionally at Disney World, Circus World and convention work in Orlando, Florida. Bill also traveled with the bands for local touring shows, including Eddie Fisher, Donald O’Connor, Kaye Starr & Pat Boone, along with many others. Following this, he continued his studies in Business Administration at the University of Florida. While in college he played casual gigs in Gainesville, Orlando and all points in between. He also played with and was featured in the U.F. Jazz band along with guest artists Mokoto Ozone & Marvin Stamm, and graduated with an BS/BA degree from U.F.

With the holidays falling on Tuesday and Wednesday this year, we thought it might be fun to move jazz to Christmas Eve-Eve —Monday, December 23rd.
And to make things really special, we have invited local special guests to join us! We’ll be figuring things out on the spur of the moment, so there’s no telling how the lineups will look or what songs we’ll be performing.
Joining the Nick DeCarlis Quartet will be singers Angela DeCarlis, Patti Markoch, and Dan Stepp, plus Bill Fote on trumpet and Brian Stevens on trombone.
