    Classic Jazz Standards with the NICK DECARLIS QUARTET

    We call Pat Gullotta “Mr. Enthusiasm” because of the positive, high-energy he brings to every gig. Here’s your chance to catch one of the best trombone players in the country! Based in Orlando, Pat plays with “Michael Andrew and Swingerhead”, Orlando Transit Authority, MPiRE,Megabone, and The Buzzcatz. He has performed with the Tommy Dorsey Orchestra as soloist and lead trombone. He also was a regular at B.B.King’s Blues Club for many years, and toured with popular festival jazz band “The Black Dogs.” Pat is widely known among musicians for his unique signature sound.     Join us for another exciting night of jazz you won’t want to miss!

    Jeff Rupert’s first two Spotlight appearances were sellouts, and we really have a great time playing with him. If you enjoy tenor sax, you won’t want to miss this! Jeff is Pegasus Professor, and Director of Jazz Studies at the University of Central Florida. He is a saxophonist, composer, record producer, and recording artist. 

    Rupert has been a featured soloist on dozens of recordings with artists including Maynard Ferguson, Sam Rivers, Mel Tormé, Diane Schuur and Benny Carter. He played on Carter’s Harlem Renaissance which won a Grammy. He has also performed with Harry Allen, Benny Green, Kenny Drew Jr, and Judy Carmichael. 

    Rupert currently is the leader of The Jazz Professors, which had top JazzWeek charting hit albums in 2012 and 2013. His third album, “From Memphis to Mobile”, with Kenny Drew, Jr. 

    Rupert joined Sam Rivers’ band in 1996 and appeared in four recordings with the group. He has performed in hundreds of concerts with Rivers, including performances at Lincoln for Ed Bradley’s Jazz from Lincoln Center (broadcast on NPR), the Vision Festival NYC and Columbia University.

    Charlie is one of the most highly-regarded and indemand bassists in Florida. His extensive knowledge of songs and styles makes him a favorite with instrumentalists and vocalists alike. Charlie grew up in Santa Barbara, CA and started playing bass in his early teens. He attended Cabrillo College in Santa Cruz, CA where he studied with trumpet player Ray Brown. Charlie has worked with celebrities like Rosemary Clooney, George Burns, Rich Little and many more. Charlie was a Disney musician for 24 years, 18 of which were with Disney’s Grand Floridian Society Orchestra. Jazz players he has backed up include Clark Terry, Mel Lewis, Buddy Tate, Buddy DeFranco, Allan and Warren Vaché, Ken Peplowski, appearing on many studio recordings. He has played in the Tommy Dorsey and Woody Herman Orchestras, and locally with Terry Myers Orchestra, Bill Allred Jazz Band, as well as many jazz cruises.

Terry is one of Orlando’s best-known musicians on tenor sax as well as clarinet.Terry is the Leader of the world-famous Tommy Dorsey Orchestra which has just   completed their US and international tours. Terry has been the featured reedman in Bill Allred’s Classic Jazz Band for many years. He also leads the Tribute to Benny Goodman big band. Don’t miss out on the fun—make your reservations now!
